Why Do I Need a Pass?

The waste site pass system is a tool to ensure that waste disposal services are used appropriately and sustainably. Waste site passes help to confirm that those people visiting the waste sites are area residents. Waste services are funded by taxpayers and the pass ensures that only people contributing to the services are using them.  Municipal waste sites only accept materials that originate within our boundaries. This is crucial for maintaining accurate waste data and ensuring that the waste management system is not overwhelmed by external waste.

Temporary passes are available for property owners with seasonal rentals. These passes must be arranged by the property owner through the Municipal office. Renters arriving without an authorized pass will not be allowed to deposit waste at the site.
