Half Load Restrictions

Half Load Restrictions are put in place each spring. Half Load Restrictions protect our roads from excessive damage while the winter frost is coming out of the roads. Signage is placed as a reminder to notify users of load reductions being in effect.

'Half Load Restriction'  requires that no axle of any commercial vehicle shall transmit to the highway, a weight in excess of 5000 kilograms. 

As per Hastings Highlands Bylaw 2020 030 Reduced Load Period on Municipal Roads:

• The Half Load Restriction shall be from March 1st to May 15th for all portions of all highways, except Hastings Highlands Road 62, under the Council and the Corporation of the Municipality of Hastings Highlands

As per Hastings Highlands Bylaw 2012-089 Half Load Restrictions on Highway 62 (from ANAF Road to the East Boundary of the Municipality of Hastings Highlands): 

• The Half Load Restriction shall be from March 1 to May 1 each year will be in effect on Highway 62 from ANAF Road to the east boundary of the Municipality of Hastings Highlands
