Fire Department

The Hastings Highlands Fire Department operates in accordance with the roles and responsibilities as outlined in the Fire Protection and Prevention Act and in accordance with all municipal and provincial guidelines. The Fire Chief is responsible for the delivery of the Three Lines of Defence as identified by the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal; in the order they represent:

• Public Education
• Code Enforcement
• Suppression

The Fire Department in Hastings Highlands is composed of volunteer firefighters who are managed by the Fire Chief.
