This practical workshop explains how municipal government works, the roles and responsibilities of Council members, and the ethical and legal obligations of public office. Participants will also learn about campaign requirements, time and financial commitments, and the realities of public life.

When Can Election Signs be Legally Placed?
Election Sign Bylaw 2017-103 applies
Signs can be erected no earlier that the set nomination day of a municipal election.
There is a fee for placing election signs. Please email [email protected] or see the Election Signs page.
August 21, 2026 is the nomination day.
Signs must be removed within 48 hours immediately following 11:59 p.m. of Election Day - October 26, 2026.
Therefore, signs must be removed by Wednesday, October 28, 2026 by 11:59 p.m.
